Many of us would know about hiring a graphic designer to deal with all the marketing collateral needs, and often considering them as Jack-of-all-trades able to cover everything that you need. There is no doubt that most designer are able to handle most of it, but layout designer is more likely the person that you rely on the most.
Graphic design thus break into various discipline according to the component of a marketing design piece requires: you need a copywriter to get your content right based on the given brief done by the creative designer. The text can only be used after it is being edited by copy editor, who is often being the child who lead the design team. A photographer or illustrator will then work together with the layout designer to produce the design piece with the best raw material produced, then it is again check by the communication designer to ensure the correctness of the piece as it adhered to what is required in the brief. But without substantial budget allocated, it often left with the layout designer and the client only.
A newsletter or any form of publication would require careful planning. A careful proofreading is essential too to avoid any error that slips out when it is being published. These are often the post design job that got omitted simply due to the lack of attention to details.

Don't Fear the Beast, but Tame the Beast

6/24/2015

Many of us knew the power of social media, and sometime might think it's a beast that can only bring disaster. But if you tame the beast, it can be a pretty powerful force to help you pushing your business.
Picture
This is a creation from the DDB company from France, to promote an exhibition about WW1 in the France museum. Aiming to approach the general public who spend most time in their second-life (aka. social media = FACEBOOK), they create this fictional (I suppose) character call Leon Vivien  and relaying conversation and posting just like we all do on a daily basis. Their posting reflects the horrible war experience that he gone through before he pass away. This had attract large attention of the public, especially youngsters, who are one of their target audiences. All question asked then replied professionally by staff members of the museum. Eventually they manage to attract more then 45% visitors and sparks great resonance in the internet media. This "ancient' Facebook strategy proof it thus work the trick.

You can visit Leon Vivien's page from here.
Social media had been proven to be the latest marketing tool that proven its influence. Anyone who intended to put forward their marketing plan should not leave out social media, by simply label that as irrelevant. It might be true that social media can be a beast that bites, but if you tame it well it can be a powerful marketing platform that draws unthinkable attention.

Contact your webmaster or web designer to assist you in managing your social media platform. There should be a team or personal (the business owner?) to look after comments and feedback that people post onto you social media platform. Leaving them behind will only makes you the late comer in this new battlefield.
